Our heroes
Aaron always wanted to be a soldier. At the end of his junior year of high school he enlisted in the Army Reserves unit in Huntsville, Texas. He made one trip to Iraq in 2004. With his reserve commitment completed, Aaron decided to join the active duty Army. That guaranteed a second deployment to Iraq in 2007-08. Now he is a staff sargent stationed in Alaska.
Nathan followed his brother into the army. He has been stationed at Ft. Mead Maryland for the last year. He made a short 6 month trip to Iraq himself. In his job there is a great need for leadership and Nathan is filling that spot. He is expected to make sargent by May of 2009, before he sees the 4th anniversary of his enlistment date.
There is no greater joy than a father seeing his sons grow up and commit their lives to protect our freedom and this nation God has so richly blessed. It might have something to do with how they were raised. I am proud and grateful to have had a part in both of their lives.
